Dell recently presented four new 24- and 27-inch UltraSharp monitors that are business-oriented, but could potentially be well-geared for other use cases. Given their capabilities, they could also serve as gaming displays.

The dual functionality of the new Dell UltraSharp monitors includes a 1080p resolution for the 24-inch models and a 1440p resolution for the 27-inch models. All monitors also feature IPS LCD displays with a refresh rate of 120Hz. This is twice the 60Hz refresh rate Dell normally offered for the UltraSharp models, which has been the standard globally for office displays even since the days of CRTs.

More visual comfort

This increased refresh rate now makes the new models interesting not just for both business use, but also for gamers. According to the hardware manufacturer, the increased refresh rate should primarily provide users with more visual comfort, also aided by the fact they’re designed to emit less blue light than normal. In addition, built-in ambient light sensors ensure that the monitor’s brightness and colour depth automatically adjust to ambient light.

Other specifications

Specifically , the new products are the 27-inch models Dell UltraSharp 27 Monitor (U2724D) and the Dell UltraSharp 27 Thunderbolt Hub Monitor (U2724DE). In addition to featuring 16:9 LCD displays, these models feature USB-C and -A ports, a DisplayPort 1.4 and an HDMI 2.1 port with VRR support. Of course, the U2724DE monitor also features a Thunderbolt 4 port.

The 24-inch models are the Dell UltraSharp 24 Monitor (U2424H) and the Dell UltraSharp 24 USB-C Hub Monitor (U2424HE). The latter, as the name suggests, has a USB-C port. These monitors also have 16:9 LCD screens, but at a 1080p resolution. The HDMI ports are also in version 2.1, but do not support variable refresh rates.

Prices

The Dell UltraSharp 27-inch models cost $379.99 for the 24-inch models and $949.99 for the 27-inch models, respectively. Furthermore, the tech giant is also introducing the 34-inch P3423WEB monitor with a curved screen and built-in speakers.

The new models will soon be available in the US. When these models will come to Europe is unknown.
