As a low-code player, OutSystems naturally also has a GenAI roadmap. On that front, it recently announced within the OutSystems Developer Cloud platform the GenAI tool AI Builder. With it, developers can more easily and securely integrate GenAI into their applications and accomplish various development tasks faster.
More specifically, the arrival of AI Builder should make it easier for companies to integrate GenAI applications into their business processes and strategy, thereby improving their digital transition.
In addition, they can use this tool to make the use of AI more standardized and secure, is the thought.
OutSystems’ AI strategy
The new AI tool AI Builder is the latest implementation of the low-code platform provider’s three-point AI strategy. This strategy is based on using GenAI to accelerate application development, applying GenAI throughout the development lifecycle to improve security, performance and flexibility, and finally building GenAI applications to accelerate enterprise (digital) development.
OutSystems itself sees AI Builder as a kind of blueprint that administrators can use to accelerate their AI strategy. It should also ease the complexity of implementing GenAI solutions.
Functionality
Among other things, the tool allows companies, without code knowledge, to design, configure and use custom AI agents. For this purpose, the low-code provider also offers three pre-made templates. Examples include templates for an agent for translating product descriptions, summarizing documents and generating technical documents.
In addition, the GenAI tool provides a library of GenAI applications, such as an automated ticketing application and a BI application that summarizes support requests.
In addition, the tool provides, for example, integrated controls for application access and performance. Measuring this data can improve the reliability of results and avoid privacy and compliance issues.
Azure OpenAI and Amazon Bedrock
The tool works using human digital interactions and instantly delivers context-aware responses and actions with minimal human intervention. The underlying LLMs that make this possible can be chosen from Microsoft Azure OpenAI or foundation models available through Amazon Bedrock.
Users can in turn link these LLMs to unique (proprietary) knowledge sources and add natural language instructions to them for use within the applications to be developed. In addition, AI Builder simplifies the development process, allows customers to customize and deploy complex GenAI solutions as they see fit.
In addition, the GenAI tool would help customers accelerate their innovation and improve operational efficiency.
