Microsoft plans on releasing specific cloud solutions for individual business sectors, starting with Microsoft Cloud for Healthcare for the healthcare sector.

With the industry-specific cloud solutions, the tech giant wants to offer more solutions for different verticals. Like several other public cloud environments, Microsoft intends to further expand its ecosystem.

The recently launched solutions within Microsoft Cloud for Healthcare are still in preview. The goal of the new solutions is to help healthcare organisations improve communication with their patients and help healthcare professionals optimise their operations. According to Microsoft, this will enable healthcare professionals to achieve better results in the field.

Existing solutions

Several established Microsoft solutions already exist for this sector, such as Microsoft 365, Dynamics, Power Platform and Azure, including Azure IoT for monitoring patients. The latter solution is stacked on top of a common data model that makes it easier to share data between applications and analyse the collected data.

In addition to various tools, Microsoft is also working on a partner ecosystem for the healthcare sector. This ecosystem should offer organisations in the healthcare sector more specialised solutions. Partners participating in this ecosystem include Epic, Allscripts, GE Healthcare, Adaptive Biotechnologies and Nuance.
