Orange Business Services wants to accelerate IoT within companies with the new IoT Connect Anywhere. This new service consists of a wide area network with low energy consumption, offering connectivity based on the LoRa open standard technology.

LoRa open standard technology is an energy-efficient network technology that can transmit data wirelessly over a wide area. This makes the technology very suitable for remote areas, compact cities and industrial campuses. The technology uses 15 times less energy than a standard mobile network, is very flexible and easy to use. Users only need small gateways and antennas themselves.

The technology also uses encryption, so that the network is fully secured. IoT Connect Anywhere also offers secure gateway network transport and data delivery via HTTPS. This encrypts all communication between the browser and the website.

The service of Orange Business Services is already used in the United States by an oil and gift multinational. The company is committed to a widespread campus for mobile asset tracking and management. The mobile assets are tracked with extensive underground tunnels via a LoRa-GPS tracker using a private LoRaWAN outside the tunnel system. This enables continuous tracking and geo-fence alerts.
