Dell Technologies accelerates roll-out of AI and HPC workloads

Dell Technologies presented several designs and systems to accelerate the roll-out of complex AI and HPC solutions. VMware Bitfusion has a crucial role to play in this.

Dell Technologies has now released two different systems. The Dell EMC Ready Solutions for AI include an integrated system that delivers GPU processing power ‘as a service’. Two designs allow virtual GPU pools to be created using VMware vSphere 7 with Bitfusion. This enables developers and data scientists to bring their IT resources together. In addition, these systems support VMware Cloud Foundation with VMWare vSphere 7 support for Kubernetes and container-based applications.

The second system, Dell EMC Ready Solutions for Virtualised HPC, includes virtualised architectures with VMWare Cloud Foundation, VMware vSphere 7 and Bitfusion technology. According to Dell Technologies, these systems should make it easier to run HPC workloads and AI applications on VMware effortlessly. Large HPC implementations have an option for VMware vSphere Scale-Out Edition.

More functionality

Both systems are complemented by an updated version of the Dell EMC OpenManage systems management software that comes with the PowerEdge servers in the systems. The management software is now compatible with VMware vCenter and supports vSphere Lifecycle Manager. The OpenManage mobile application is also supported to monitor heat values and storage capacity. In addition, the mobile app makes it possible to adjust power consumption in an emergency.

The systems are available through Dell Technologies On Demand for pricing based on usage and consumption.
