Tele2 is permitted to sell T-Mobile Netherlands. The business unit will be handed to investors Apax Partners and Warburg Pincus. The proceeds — 5.1 billion euros — will be divided among current shareholder.
75 percent of T-Mobile Netherlands is owned by Deutsche Telekom. 25 percent belongs to Tele2. In September 2021, the organizations agreed to sell. T-Mobile Netherlands was pledged to investors Apax Partners and Warburg Pincus for a price of 5.1 billion euros.
Today, Tele2 announced that regulatory approvals have been received. The sale can proceed as planned. In the coming weeks, the acquisition will be finalized. The proceeds are expected to be paid to current shareholders in May 2022.
‘No consequences’
T-Mobile Netherlands is an umbrella organization of T-Mobile, Ben, Tele2 and Simpel. Earlier, management claimed that the acquisition will have no impact on Dutch customers.
