Not a small light like on a standard camera, but a gigantic light that is activated when motion is detected. That’s what Arlo brings with the new Pro 3 Floodlight camera, presented at CES in Las Vegas.
Owners of the new system not only get a 2K HDR camera to see who’s at the door, but the viewing angle can also be significantly changed: the camera’s angle of rotation covers 160 degrees and comes with integrated coloured night vision. In addition, the new Arlo Pro 3 Floodlight also comes with two-way audio, so that a conversation can actually be held with the person standing at the door. The latter can also be used as an alarm, as a siren is built in.
Dual function
The improved light function can be activated manually or by means of a sensor. This means that the camera can not only be used as a safety measure, but can also serve directly as a light for a garage, for example. In that case, it may be more difficult to connect the camera, but this has also been considered. Apart from a standard power connection, it is also possible to work with batteries.
To prevent the batteries from running out within a day because the sensor picks up every movement, a light sensor has been built in that prevents the light from turning on when there is enough light. In addition, it is also possible to configure what kind of light should be emitted when the sensor is activated: constant, breathing or flashing.
The new security camera will appear on the market sometime in spring, in the United States for a purchase price of 250 dollars (about 224 euros).
