Goed, a healthcare retailer and part of the CM, fell victim to a cyber attack. Data was stolen during the attack. In several stores and pharmacies from Goed, it is currently not possible to pay with Bancontact.

Hackers broke into Goed’s systems during the night from Monday to Tuesday. During the attack, data was stolen and encrypted. After reporting suspicious activity, all systems were disconnected. That was supposed to isolate the incident and prevent further data breaches.

Investigations have yet to determine whether patients’ personal information was stolen during the cyberattack. In addition, it is still unclear whether the hackers are demanding a ransom. A combination of internal and external experts is conducting the investigation.
