Yenlo is joining Evolveum’s partner network as a system integrator for midPoint. With this move, the Dutch integration provider is expanding its portfolio to include identity governance and administration, in addition to its existing services in integration, API management, and identity & access management.
Yenlo has long provided solutions based on WSO2, Boomi, and its proprietary Connext platform. Until now, identity governance was not part of that suite. With midPoint, an open-source IGA platform is being added, which Yenlo will implement and support as a system integrator.
The platform automates the creation and deletion of user accounts, enforces access policies, performs access certifications, and maintains audit trails. midPoint is also licensed under the European Union Public License, making it approved in every EU member state and compliant with broad compatibility requirements. As a result, organizations are not tied to a single vendor. Professional support is available as an option from both Evolveum and Yenlo.
Competition in a commercial domain
“Our customers already trust us to connect their systems and manage access,” says Marcel Ruijs, Sales & Account Manager at Yenlo. “With midPoint, we’re adding identity governance to that, on an open platform that they can configure as they see fit. For us, this is a logical next step in what we’re already doing.”
midPoint is often described as the most comprehensive option, according to Yenlo, citing analysts from Gartner and KuppingerCole. The platform offers identity provisioning, governance and compliance, access reviews, role management, and a mature connector framework. Evolveum itself positions it as “professional open source.” In other words, it’s free to download, with a revenue model based on paid support and services.
Identities are becoming more complex to manage
The expansion into identity governance may sound somewhat subtle compared to identity & access management as a broader concept. However, governance is more important today than ever before, due to the blurring of lines between regular accounts and machine identities. In the digital realm, agents often behave like humans but are not. They require a different kind of management that works across all types of IT environments, from on-premises to cloud and hybrid setups.
