Cohesity introduces Data Security Alliance for cybercrime prevention

Cohesity has formed the Data Security Alliance. The coalition of security, data and infrastructure providers aims to support companies in preventing and combating cyberattacks.

Cohesity finds security to be increasingly complex. The organization argues that integrators, security vendors and data management providers can no longer solve the problem alone. According to Cohesity, the solution lies in mutual cooperation and integrations of security systems within an ecosystem.

Data Security Alliance

Cohesity recently initiated the founding of the Data Security Alliance. The partnership is intended to help customers integrate their data security applications into a comprehensive strategy. According to Cohesity, all strategies should include prevention, detection, protection and recovery.

The partnership’s participants include Cohesity, BigID, Cisco, CrowdStrike, CyberArk, Okta, Palo Alto Networks, Qualys, Securonix, Splunk, Tenable, Mandiant and PricewaterhouseCoopers.

All participants have access to the Cohesity Data Cloud platform, its features and underlying services to strengthen customers’ security posture, Cohesity explained. Partners can, for example, use Cohesity’s AI-based anomaly detection for early insights into active attacks.

Cohesity DataHawk

In addition to the partnership, Cohesity announced a new security solution: DataHawk. The SaaS-based data security solution allows customers to discover, prevent and avert ransomware and malware attacks.

The service combines threat protection to scan potential attacks, machine learning-based data classification to determine the impact of an incident and ‘cyber vaulting’ for data recovery and resiliency. Cyber vaulting functionality is provided by the Cohesity FortKnox application. Everything is combined in a single SaaS solution.
