The commissioning of a new infrastructure solution may initially seem like a substantial investment, but it can save a lot of money. This is because Hyper-Converged Infrastructure (HCI) can bring about a great deal of simplicity in use and maintenance, reducing the total cost of ownership.

When taking new infrastructure into use, one often thinks of the deployment phase. Companies then roll out a NAS appliance, multiple servers and a hypervisor, for example. Such components often come from multiple vendors, so everything must be configured and integrated within the overall infrastructure solution. HCI simplifies this process by bringing server, storage, hypervisor and management together in one appliance. Integrating components is easier with HCI; just setting up a network connection is enough to achieve compatibility between different components.

Besides deployment, other issues also affect the TCO of infrastructure. Staff training, software licenses, downtime and management are factors that need to be taken into account. HCI can do a lot to reduce costs and time for these issues, as well. Think, for example, of the increased simplicity when using just one vendor instead of multiple ones.

The whitepaper below, which we offer in cooperation with Scale Computing, discusses what a modernisation with the HCI solution HC3 can achieve for your organisation.
