Netpresenter is one of the first companies to integrate ChatGPT. Customers can now use the AI tool to generate texts and send them to multiple communication channels.

ChatGPT has the world’s attention. A free web version of the tool was made available near the end of 2022. Users visit the website, ask a question and receive credible texts or code.

On January 17, ChatGPT developer OpenAI announced that the model would be made available to third parties through an API. The API allows paying organizations to offer ChatGPT in proprietary applications.

Companies have to sign up for a waiting list to gain access to the API. Netpresenter, the developer of a platform that helps companies communicate with employees, was granted access. The Dutch organization announced that ChatGPT has been integrated into its platform.

The integration allows users to generate texts with ChatGPT and send them to any communication channel with the push of a button. Think of text messages, business applications and presentation screens in offices.

We expect many other companies to integrate ChatGPT in the coming days and weeks. Organizations that sign up for the waiting list get a chance at API access.

Companies use Netpresenter to send messages to employees from a central platform. “By adding cutting-edge technologies such as ChatGPT, we are a game-changer when it comes to employee communications”, said Frank Hoen, founder and CEO of Netpresenter.

In addition to ChatGPT, the organization uses artificial intelligence to measure the effectiveness of messages to employees. To give an example, the platform advises companies to repeat or deepen messages.

Furthermore, Netpresenter uses artificial intelligence to summarize texts on Microsoft Teams, SharePoint or the intranet. Users can automatically extract and list the main topics of a text for presentations or emails.

OpenAI commercializes

The web version of ChatGPT remains free for now. Organizations that integrate the model with the API pay a fee. OpenAI took several steps to commercialize its technology in recent months.

Examples include collaborations with major partners such as Microsoft, whereby the partner invests in OpenAI and is allowed to integrate the technology in return.

Enterprises and investors have high hopes for OpenAI. Insiders said the organization recently told investors that it’s expecting $1 billion (about €930 million) in yearly revenue by 2024.

The organization was founded by Elon Musk and Sam Altman in 2015. OpenAI was initially nonprofit. Musk said he wanted to demonstrate that AI could improve the world without the dangers often associated with the technology.

The nonprofit label expired in 2019. Since then, OpenAI has been allowed to accept funding from corporate investors. In the same year, Microsoft backed the organization with $1 billion.
