Windows 11 Insider Preview replaces speech recognition with ‘voice shortcuts’

Microsoft recently released another Windows 11 Insider Preview Build, version 22635.2915, in its Beta Channel. This build again includes many new features as well as fixes.

The recent Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 22635.2915 (Beta Channel) update is the last of 2023, as Microsoft indicates. This latest preview version includes new functionality, some tweaks as well as some fixes for Beta Channel users who have checked them.

New features

New features include support for multiple languages and custom commands for voice access. Voice commands can now also be given to multiple displays. This is based on the NATO alphabet.

Also, with so-called “voice shortcuts”, it is now possible to create custom voice commands and “screen casting” a Windows screen to other displays has been improved.

Updates Windows 365

Users also now have better Windows 365 Boot capabilities. This should improve interoperability between enterprise-issued laptops and desktops with (Windows) Cloud PCs, according to Microsoft. Other better control and management features for Windows 365 are also coming.

Building on this, new features for Windows 365 Switch have also been implemented in the latest Beta Channel build of Windows 11.
