SAP recently introduced its new RISE with SAP Migration and Modernization program. This program allows large business enterprises to bring their entire ERP environments to the cloud.

SAP wants to make it easier for large-scale business companies to bring their existing ERP environments to the cloud so that they can better take advantage of innovation for these types of environments.

To this end, SAP is introducing a new range of services and solutions within its own as-a-service RISE with SAP program: RISE with SAP Migration and Modernization.

RISE with SAP Migration and Modernization

More specifically, this new program should help companies solve two key problems when transferring their entire ERP environment to the cloud. First, this involves the scale of this migration and, second, the costs involved.

These include eliminating custom code, data silos and complex processes.

SAP’s RISE with SAP Migration and Modernization program helps customers bring their ERP environments, whether based on the more traditional SAP ERP and SAP ECC or the newer SAP S/4HANA, to the cloud. They can then leave the management for reliability, strengthening security and compliance and being able to use all available business data to SAP.

Services and incentives

In addition, this new program consists of various migration and implementation services and incentives. These services are provided through partners, among others. Customers also receive access to the SAP Business Network and intelligent business process engineering services.

Other incentives include a short-term offer to reduce migration costs by up to 50 percent. Also, through June 2024, customers can access “cloud credits” through RISE with SAP or also GROW with SAP to reduce the cost of maintenance, cloud services and cloud subscriptions.

The latter applies to both S/4HANA Cloud and other (cloud-based) SAP services such as HR management, supply chain management, CRM, expense management and business transition services.

Introduction of SAP S/4HANA Cloud Safekeeper

Furthermore, SAP is also introducing the SAP S/4HANA Cloud Safekeeper service in this context. This allows RISE with SAP customers to optimize their systems on older releases of the cloud-based ERP service for upgrades to the latest version.

These include upgrade services and infrastructure optimization. This should provide customers’ current systems with an additional two years of updates and patches.
