Microsoft will add a new “work hours and location experience” to the desktop and web versions of Outlook.

The new feature will make it easier for employees to display their work location and discover where a colleague is located. At the top of the calendar, users can click on the work location to indicate where they are currently. Users can also quickly see who is in the office, which can help determine whether a trip to the office makes sense.

Since Outlook is under Microsoft 365, the work location will also be visible in other Microsoft applications. In Teams and on the profile card, the user’s location will also be visible. Moreover, it is possible to modify the work location in Teams, after which Microsoft will automatically synchronize it with Outlook.

With the new “work hours and location experience,” Microsoft will add an out-of-office location type to Outlook.

Remote working features will become generally available in April.

Contact Editor

In April, Outlook for iOS and Android will also get an update. Coming to these versions is a new Contact Editor. This will allow users to create and edit contacts from within the app, rather than having to do so directly on the device in the contacts list.

Tip: Outlook continues to have synchronization problems
