EPOS has unveiled the Expand Vision 3T. It is a webcam intended for use in office spaces, certified for Microsoft Teams Rooms on Android.

The Expand Vision 3T is designed for small meeting rooms with up to seven attendees. It features a built-in camera and a set of microphones to enable beamforming. EPOS does not mention many hardware specifications for the webcam, other than a 4K sensor from Sony and a wide-angle lens. The company does mention features such as intelligent picture framing, improved pan, tilt and zoom functions, voice tracking and noise reduction technology.

Huddle rooms

EPOS expects that hybrid working will only increase in the future but believes that the role of face-to-face meetings should not be overlooked. The company refers to a recent survey by Work Trend Index. In it, 67 percent of employees said they want more personal collaboration after the pandemic. Small “huddle rooms” in otherwise open-plan offices should play a role in this.

No computer is required to use the Expand Vision 3T. The webcam can work together with Microsoft Teams Rooms on Android, making it possible to start a meeting from mobile devices as well.

More Expand Vision products in the pipeline

In addition to the Expand Vision 3T, EPOS has expressed its intentions to expand the Expand Vision line even further in the future. “The launch of Expand Vision 3T marks an important milestone for EPOS and our move into the video collaboration market”, says Jeppe Dalberg-Larsen, President of EPOS. Our aim with this launch is to provide professionals with the tools they need to collaborate and perform at their best, while continuing to challenge what is technically possible in delivering premium audio. The video collaboration journey starts here, and we look forward to seeing this new chapter of EPOS unfold.”

Theis Moerk, Vice President of Product Management at EPOS comments: “We are very excited to launch our very first video collaboration bar which feels like a natural extension to our product portfolio. The introduction of Expand Vision 3T enables us to deliver integrated audio and video solutions for the modern meeting room, together with our partner Microsoft who continue to be at the forefront of innovative video conferencing solutions.”

The Expand Vision 3T is available now with a suggested retail price of 1399 euros. The Expand Vision 3 will also be released in the fall. That model lacks the Microsoft Teams certification and the built-in speakers.
