Google’s Duo and Meet video conferencing services will continue under a single banner: Google Meet.

Google Duo will disappear and merge into Google Meet. As a result, the tech giant offers a single product for video communication. On a technical level, the change is reversed. In the coming weeks, Google Meet’s functionality is added to Google Duo. Later this year, the apps are merged and continued as Google Meet.

Little changes

Existing Google Duo users won’t lose any functionality. The combined service includes all current options, including video calls to email and phone contacts, filters and messaging. All call histories, contacts and messages are retained. Google assures that no user will be required to download or install a new app.
