Databricks launched Lakehouse for Media & Entertainment, a data lake and warehouse framework for media companies.

The Apache Spark-based analytics platform allows companies to store and analyse data. The platform was previously tailored for retail, finance and healthcare. It offers companies a lakehouse, combining the best of a data warehouse and data lake.


Real-time processing, machine learning and business intelligence allow companies to retrieve and analyse unstructured data in their data repository. Recommendation engines, customer lifetime value solutions, churn data, QoS functionality and ad optimisation can be used to improve services and adapt to customer needs.


The data platform also includes third-party services from AWS, video quality software from Cognizant, data services from Lovleytics and a training platform from Labelbox.

Databricks Lakehouse for Media & Entertainment is available immediately.
