Samsung presents the new Galaxy Note 20 and the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra. In addition, the company also presented the latest foldable smartphone, the Galaxy Z Fold 2. The Galaxy Note 20 models will be available on the 21st of August.

The Galaxy Note series will be expanded with two models, the Galaxy Note 20 and the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra. The smartphones both feature an Exynos 990 processor, and the Ultra will be shipped with 5G support. The Note 20 has a 4300 mAh battery, and the Ultra has a 4500 mAh battery.

The regular version of the new smartphone has a 6.7-inch amoled display and a 60 Hz refresh rate. The Ultra version has a slightly larger 6.9-inch display and has a refresh rate of 120 Hz. To save battery power on the Note Ultra 20, Samsung introduces a function to automatically adjust the refresh rate when required.

Cameras

The regular Note 20 features a 12-megapixel camera with a standard lens, a 12-megapixel wide-angle camera and a 64-megapixel camera with 30x zoom. The Note 20 Ultra has a 108-megapixel camera with a standard lens, a 12-megapixel wide-angle camera and a 12-megapixel camera with 50x zoom.

The cameras can both film in 8K resolution at 24fps. In addition, with the new microphones, users can choose where they want to record the sound: the front, back or both sides.

The regular Galaxy Note 20 costs 949 euros, and the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra costs 1299 euros. The devices are available on the 21st of August.

Galaxy Z Fold 2

Samsung also unveiled the new foldable smartphone called the Galaxy Z Fold 2. When the phone is closed, the Fold 2 has a 6.2-inch screen. When the smartphone is fully opened, it has a 7.6-inch display with a refresh rate of 120 Hz. The latest foldable smartphone has an improved hinge to make the phone more durable. Users of the first Galaxy Fold and Galaxy Z Flip complained that their screens often broke and the phones weren’t as durable as Samsung claimed.

The Fold 2 is equipped with three cameras, and the setup is similar to the Galaxy Note 20. Details about the cameras, resolution, hardware and other features are not yet known. It is also unknown when the Galaxy Z Fold 2 will be released or how much it will cost. But if we keep in mind Samsung’s previous foldable smartphones, we can assume a retail price approaching 2000 euros.
