Cisco and Hitachi Vantara are expanding their partnership to make it easier for businesses to move to hybrid cloud environments. To this end, both parties are introducing new IaaS solutions and flexible consumption models.

In June 2023, Cisco and Hitachi Vantara entered into a comprehensive partnership to help (joint) customers make managing hybrid cloud environments easier, especially regarding the underlying converged infrastructure.

Both parties are announcing that they will strengthen the collaboration further and are introducing joint hybrid cloud services. These services, this time, focus mainly on large-scale data management.

The services are named Hitachi EverFlex with Cisco Powered Hybrid Cloud and combine various functionalities. These include automation solutions and predictive analytics for better infrastructure management, cost savings and more effective operational work.

Three components

The offering consists of three components. Hitachi Infrastructure Orchestration as a Service (HIOaaS) is combined with Cisco Insight for greater observability and also provides management capabilities for on-premises and cloud environments. This includes, for example, performance analytics, hybrid cloud observability and efficient automation.

The managed services operating model Hitachi Managed Services should help reduce customers’ TCO between 30 per cent and 50 per cent as the second component of the new partnership.

The third and final component, Hitachi Vantara’s Hitachi EverFlex consumption model, is to help solution customers with Cisco purchase solutions for hybrid cloud and on-premises environments via a pay-per-use model.
