The specialist in hyperconversion, virtualization and edge solutions Scale Computing is expanding its collaboration with data protection specialist Acronis. With Acronis Cloud Storage, end users now have access to cloud-based backup storage for disaster recovery applications.

With the cloud-based backup storage solution, end users of the hyperconversion specialist’s Scale Computing HC3 platform have a secure location for the backup of their data. This provides them with a secure disaster recovery location when, for example, they have to deal with certain cyber threats.

Functionality

The Acronis Cloud Storage environment offers Scale Computing HC3 customers other benefits in addition to a secure disaster recovery solution. They have a wide selection of backup and security features, such as granular object-level recovery, variable length deduplication and active ransomware protection.

In addition, the cloud-based Acronis solution also provides high availability and scalable offsite backup anytime, anywhere for all data and systems requiring backup.

Extremely secure storage

Specifically, the Acronis backups are stored within the cloud-based Acronis Cyber Infrastructure platform. According to both vendors, this limits risks and excludes single points of failure. In addition, all stored data is automatically encrypted via AWS-256 encryption before being sent to a secure data center.

The physical data centers in which this storage is located are equipped with strict security measures, such as security barriers, video surveillance and strict access control.

Availability

Scale Computing offers the Acronis Cloud Storage solution for periods of 1 or 3 years. The storage capacity is available in different quantities between 250 GB and 5 TB.
