McAfee announced on August 2nd its MVISION Private Access, an integrated approach that facilitates a granular zero-trust framework to enhance data and threat protection in private apps on hybrid environments.

MVISION Private Access is designed to change the zero-trust network access market leveraging a data-centric approach in the granular zero-trust process it employs.

The coverage includes private applications (in customer data centres hosted in public, private, or hybrid clouds) from any device or location. The solution offers a blanket cover for both managed and unmanaged devices.

Private access indeed

Private Access undertakes continuous risk assessment by deriving enhanced device posture information from McAfee Enterprise’s endpoint security technology. The new service brings together MVISION Unified Cloud Edge for a single low-latency, 99.999% available cloud-native platform with unified visibility and control, encompassing private apps, clouds, endpoints, and the web.

With UCE convergence, which includes Cloud Access Security Broker and Secure Web Gateway, MVISION offers reliably provisioned private access.

In addition to other security capabilities through the same service edge, the service provides a firm foundation for Secure Access Service Edge deployments.

Granular controls

MVISION Private Access also features granular controls for unmanaged device access, including the ability to go beyond simple access and posture concepts, to include full session control and frictionless support.

The service enables sophisticated policy options that allow organizations to customize the policy to address their specific threat and data posture, copy/paste, session residence, cookie theft/replay, and preventing threats from moving laterally within the network.

The service also integrates with Identity and Access Management and multifactor authentication tools to enable tougher authentication options for access management and augment context-based access controls.

MVISION Private Access will allow the market to get “secure, seamless and ultra-fast access to private applications for remote workforces,” according to Shishir Singh, the Chief Product Officer at McAfee Enterprise.
