Image and sound quality

The image quality of the monitor is excellent. The maximum resolution of the VA LC panel with W-LED backlight is 5120 x 1440 pixels. The contrast ratio is 3000:1, and the brightness is 450 cd/m2. The sVGA color space measured by us is 100%, and the Adobe RGB color space is 86%. In addition, the Philips Brilliance 499P9H monitor DisplayHDR 400 is certified.

The manufacturer delivers a Color Uniformity Data Sheet with the monitor at the factory. This sheet contains the measurements that the monitor has undergone in the factory, which measurement conditions apply and what the different scores are. A big plus for these as well.

We like that about Philips. That’s the way it should be in this price range.

The monitor has two built-in speakers. The sound quality of voices is clear and easy to understand. In the low reproduction, however, these speakers are somewhat deficient, but nevertheless, music reproduction is satisfactory. In this price range, we would not have minded if a more dynamic solution had been chosen. Plenty of space available.
