Atlassian Intelligence is bringing generative AI to quite a few Atlassian tools. Jira, Jira Service Management, Confluence, Trello and Bitbucket will have access to the generative AI.
With Atlassian Intelligence, based on proprietary AI models and GPT-4 from OpenAI, the software specialist gives companies more options for (conversational) access to their data and gaining quick insights (analytics).
The generative AI capability also connects different Atlassian products, allowing AI-generated actions to be mutually tracked. This allows customers to improve and accelerate services and productivity.
More productivity
More specifically, Atlassian Intelligence now offers generative AI functionality in the editors of the various Atlassian products. Think of creating user stories in Jira tickets, adjusting tone in Jira Service Management or creating a starting point for a test plan in Confluence.
Also, the now ubiquitous generative AI technology generates summaries and will soon enable automatic actions based on natural language in Jira. In beta, AI-generated definitions in Confluence are also coming, and this feature will soon come to Jira and Jira Service Management.
Better insights
In addition, Atlassian Insights now offers companies faster insights on which to take action, including natural language interfaces. These interfaces let users formulate complex search queries in plain language and provide flexible question-and-answer experiences from across their knowledge environment.
New functionality includes the ability to perform complex JQL queries using natural language, and the same is true for SQL queries. In Atlassian Confluence, functionality has been added in beta for Q&A search. It has also been added, also in beta, for Atlassian Compass.
With the arrival of Atlassian Intelligence for the virtual agents in Jira Service Management, functionality has been added that allows administrators to create “request types” using AI with just a few prompt words.
Bitbucket update
Finally, a Bitbucket code reviewer also appears within Atlassian Intelligence. This feature allows the AI technology to retrieve request diffs and automatically comment on them with suggested syntax and code convention changes. As a result, human reviewers only need to focus on the most critical changes in the code.
