Databricks has announced that the company has partnered with Google Cloud. This should contribute to the scalability and allows Databricks to be deployed in a containerised cloud environment.

To work with Google Cloud, Databricks has added strong integration with Google BigQuery to its platform. This makes it easy for customers who already have their Databricks warehouse running on Google Cloud to expand the capabilities, Databricks writes in a press release.

The company lists a number of unique implementations that are possible with the collaboration with Google Cloud. For example, it will be possible to use Google Cloud’s analytics solutions on Databricks’ products. This will give customers AI-driven insights into data lakes, data warehouses and other Databricks tools.

Another benefit is easy integration of Databricks with other Google solutions, such as BigQuery, storage in Google Cloud, Looker and Pub/Sub. The collaboration also benefits the deployment of artificial intelligence. Google’s AI Platform can be easily deployed on Databricks.

Crucial milestone

“Companies with a strong foundation in data and analytics are well positioned for healthy growth over the next decade,” said Thomas Kurian, CEO at Google Cloud. “We are excited to deliver a lakehouse for AI- and ML-driven analytics on Google Cloud with Databricks.
