Nutanix has updated two of its storage products. New features have been added to both Objects and Files for better integration with the AWS products.

Objects

Objects now allows companies to shift data between their own servers and AWS. The new feature allows customers to cheaply store data they don’t use very often at low cost with AWS S3’s more affordable storage options.

Files

Files, intended for file storage, can now also be used to manage file storage on AWS. Nutanix has made Files suitable for Nutanix Clusters, which has made the support for AWS deployment possible.

With Files, administrators can manage their storage from a single panel, whether it is stored on-premises, at branch locations or in AWS. Nutanix also wants to add support for Azure in the future, SiliconANGLE writes.

RPO

Nutanix also indicates that it has worked on the recovery point objectives. These RPOs indicate how frequent back-ups are and thus how much work is lost in the even of an outage. The company claims that the RPOs of Objects and Files have now decreased to a few seconds and less than a minute respectively.
