ASUS recently launched a new version of its ASUS Zenbook Duo during CES 2024. In addition to an Intel Core Ultra processor, this high-end laptop also features as many as two 14-inch screens.
With the introduction of the new ASUS Zenbook Duo, the well-known Taiwanese laptop manufacturer is also making a stab at “AI PCs” that will be featured several times during CES 2024. Not least because this laptop also features the popular and intended for AI workloads Intel Core Ultra processor.
Two 14-inch screens
The most striking specifications of the ASUS Zenbook Duo, however, are the two OLED 14-inch screens the laptop is equipped with. This allows the laptop to be placed in different positions.
It can be used in a typical notebook position, where the second screen is hidden, or in a position where both screens are used. The keyboard is completely detachable from the screens.
In addition, the screens have a stand that allows them to be placed on a table, but both screens can also be laid flat in a “sharing” mode, creating one large display.
Three Intel Core Ultra variants
The Zenbook Duo comes in several forms. The first variant uses the Intel Core Ultra 9 processor 185H. It is equipped with 24 MB of cache, a clock speed of up to 5.1 GHz, 16 cores and 22 threads. This is combined with an Intel NPU and an Intel Arc GPU.
The second variant contains the Intel Core Ultra 7 processor 155H, has 24MB of cache, has a clock speed up to 4.8 GHz, 16 cores and 22 threads.
The last variant is the Intel Core Ultra 5 processor 125H 1.2 GHz, 18MB Cache, clock speed up to 4.5 GHz, 14 cores and 18 Threads. Naturally with an Intel NPU and an Intel Arc GPU.
Other specs include 16 or 32GB of RAM and 512GB, 1TB or 2TB of NVMe SSD storage. A 75Wh battery has been chosen.
High price
The ASUS Zenbook Duo is expected to hit the market at the end of this month and will be available starting at around 1,975 euros. Quite an amount, then, for a laptop that looks very much like a 2-in-1 device.
