Lenovo announced new versions of the ThinkPad P15v Gen 3 and ThinkPad P14s Gen 3. The upcoming laptops run on AMD CPUs as opposed to the Intel options available today.

Lenovo launched the ThinkPad P15v Gen 3 and ThinkPad P14s Gen 3 in the first half of 2022. The models have multiple versions. All of the current options run on Intel CPUs. Lenovo recently announced that the models will soon be available with CPUs from AMD.

The release dates are unknown, but most specifications were confirmed. The new versions of the Lenovo ThinkPad P15v Gen 3 run on AMD Ryzen Pro 6000 H-series CPUs. The most powerful version has an Nvidia RTX A2000 GPU. RAM and SSD capacity run to 64GB and 4TB, respectively.

Each version has a 15″ display, 16:9 aspect ratio and either Full HD or Ultra HD resolution. Pricing is unknown, but the current Intel versions give an idea. Lenovo sells the most powerful version for around €3,150. The most powerful AMD version will likely have a similar price.

The ThinkPad P14s Gen 3 is a smaller and cheaper variant of the ThinkPad P15v Gen 3. The new versions of the ThinkPad P14s Gen 3 run on AMD Ryzen Pro 6000 U-series CPUs. Lenovo didn’t disclose further specifications.

The organization did say that the versions’ functions are similar to the ThinkPad P16s, a model introduced earlier this year. The ThinkPad P16S has an integrated AMD Radeon GPU. We expect the same GPU in new versions of the ThinkPad P14s Gen 3.

Although the display specs are unknown, current Intel versions give an idea. The new versions will likely come with a 14″ display and 16:10 ratio. We expect a choice among Full HD and Ultra HD resolutions. The price of the most powerful AMD version is similar to the price of the most powerful Intel version (€2,909).
