MuleSoft offers new capabilities to build, manage, and meet compliance requirements for APIs.

It is increasingly commonplace to build, use and spread APIs across multiple environments. Think hybrid cloud, public cloud or multi-cloud. APIs must comply with many laws and regulations. This can make the API landscape rather complex.

MuleSoft wants to facilitate companies by introducing new API management tools for its Anypoint Platform. The tools should enable companies to build, deploy, run and find APIs — no matter where they are built, what technology or programming language they have, or where they are deployed.

Central to the tooling is the Anypoint Flex Gateway. This is a lightweight, high-performance gateway that can be deployed anywhere. For example, in Kubernetes environments, on-premises and various cloud environments.

The API Manager boots in a single environment to monitor and run APIs. The API Designer tool makes APIs readable and available in the MuleSoft API Experience Hub, regardless of their language.

Governance from a central environment

Furthermore, the new API Governance tool allows administrators to define and impose various governance rules on APIs. It aims to relieve administrators and compliance specialists of checking and applying regulations before rolling out APIs. For this purpose, developers are made aware of what governance requirements the APIs they create must meet at an early stage.

Furthermore, MuleSoft notes that the tool gives companies more insight into the governance status for their entire API portfolio at a glance.
