Vertiv is expanding its liquid cooling technology with the acquisition of CoolTera.

Financial details about the acquisition were not disclosed. Vertiv sees the acquisition of CoolTera as part of its longer-term strategy. The acquisition is intended to expand Vertiv’s liquid cooling offerings for data centre environments. The company wants to support customers’ needs more effectively, especially customers eager to implement liquid cooling technology in their (global) data centres for AI services.

CoolTera Services

CoolTera provides infrastructure solutions for liquid cooling. The company also develops and manufactures liquid cooling distribution units (CDUs), secondary liquid networks (SFNs) and liquid cooling manifolds within data centres.

CoolTera is pleased with the acquisition. According to the liquid cooling technology specialist, the acquisition was a “logical fit” and looks forward to further cooperation.

With the acquisition, Vertiv will now own all the shares of the British cooling specialist, in addition to contracts, patents, trademarks and intellectual property. The entire transaction should be completed this year.
