Netgear introduces the Orbi 970 Mesh router, which allows users to achieve higher Internet speeds, particularly with Quadband technology and the introduction of WiFi 7.

According to Netgear, the demand for higher Internet speeds is growing due to the increase of WiFi devices in the home and higher demands from services for WiFi speed, lower latency and more capacity.

Within the Orbi WiFi router portfolio, Netgear recently launched the Orbi 970 Mesh router. This mesh technology-based router claims to offer stable and up to 2.4 times faster WiFi connections in all corners of an environment.

Specifications

In addition to mesh technology, the Orbi 970 Mesh router features Quadband technology and Enhanced Dedicated backhaul. These features and WiFi 7 should ensure fast Internet connections and a secure network for all connected devices.

With built-in Smart Connect functionality, the router automatically selects the fastest WiFi frequency for each connected device, while the 12 built-in antennas ensure optimal coverage. For wired connectivity, the router offers a 10 Gig Internet port, 10Gbps, and 2.5Gbps Ethernet ports.

Regarding software, the new Netgear Orbi 970 Mesh router is equipped with features such as Netgear Armor, which provides strict security for all connected devices. Users can remotely manage all functionalities of their Orbi routers through the Netgear Orbi app. The app provides basic functionality for free, but users can obtain additional features through a Premium subscription.

The Netgear Orbi 970 Mesh router is available in white or black, both as a 2-pack (Orbi RBE972S) and 3-pack (Orbi RBE973S) for an extended range of up to 660 square meters.

The 3-pack Black Edition is currently available for pre-order and costs 2399.99 euros. Additional satellites are also available.
