Leaseweb is acquiring the white-label VCSP customers of Broadcom partner ITQ. As a result, 51 customers and approximately 35,000 cores will migrate to Leaseweb’s VCF platform. This brings the total to 65,000 cores, which the company says makes it the largest VMware Pinnacle partner in the Netherlands.
The acquisition follows a partnership the two companies announced earlier this month. As part of that partnership, ITQ selected Leaseweb as its VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) infrastructure partner. Leaseweb and ITQ are now jointly offering VCF in Europe, just two days after Leaseweb was awarded the coveted VCSP Pinnacle status.
Pinnacle is the highest tier within the partner program. Broadcom reserves this tier for partners with extensive certifications. As an Authorized Pinnacle VCSP, Leaseweb deals directly with Broadcom.
A way forward for partners not renewing
The background to this lies in Broadcom’s sweeping restructuring. The old Advantage partner program had previously ended, after which a new, invite-only VCSP program was launched with significantly fewer partners. The white-label model was also discontinued.
Many providers had their contracts not renewed. Broadcom sent out non-renewal notices, leading to fears of forced migrations. The white-label partners acquired from ITQ, who previously operated under the Advantage program, can now continue their offerings under Leaseweb’s Pinnacle status.
Leaseweb and ITQ are also targeting global VCSP partners who are not renewing their contracts. Leaseweb acts as the provider for VMware VCF 9.x infrastructure, while ITQ continues to serve as a knowledge partner, providing VMware expertise for migration and implementation.
