ASML recently announced its yearly results. The Dutch tech giant managed to book a record turnover of no less than 18.6 billion euros. ASML expects a higher turnover in 2022.

ASML managed to book a record turnover last year. In total, the company posted sales of 18.6 billion euros in 2021. Profits totalled 6 billion euros.

Profiting from chip shortage

The global chip shortage is the main driver of its record sales and high profits. Scarcity has prompted chip manufacturers to expand their capacities, increasing the demand for ASML’s manufacturing machines. The company is struggling to keep up with the trend.

ASML itself is also facing challenges due to the global chip shortage. Its chip manufacturing machines use processors that are difficult to supply. This can lead to delivery delays. Despite this, the tech giant managed to maintain production throughout last year.

More sales in 2022

The organization expects to be able to increase sales by another 20 percent in 2022. A somewhat grounded figure, as the chip shortage is expected to continue for some time.
