Bitdefender is expanding its portfolio of security services and products with the acquisition of Singapore-based Horangi Cyber Security. In doing so, it has primarily acquired capabilities to create new services for monitoring attack surfaces.

With the acquisition, details of which were not disclosed, Bitdefender gains technology to better help security specialists monitor attack surfaces. Especially as multi-cloud environments become increasingly important, such services are gaining in importance.

The technology it has acquired helps companies build better protection against attacks. Examples include misconfiguration and vulnerability detection capabilities, governance capabilities and compliance. They offer these options for both hybrid and multi-cloud environments.

Integration into proprietary GravityZone platform

Among other things, Bifdefender plans to integrate the Singapore security specialist’s Cloud Infrastructure Entitlement Management (CIEM) and Cloud Security Posture Management (CSPM) solutions into its MDR portfolio. More specifically, they are planning an integration into its own GravityZone unified risk and security analytics platform will follow. This should give existing customers critical security governance and compliance capabilities.

Experienced staff as well

In addition to increasing the functionality of its platform, the Romanian security provider also gains further access to experienced security specialists. These include CREST-certified security analysts, penetration testers, red teams, and security consultants.
