These include Secure Web Gateway (SWG) technology for access to websites, Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA) for access to cloud-based (IaaS) resources, a Cloud Access Security Broker (CASB) for access to SaaS applications and Virtual Private Network as a Service (VPNaaS) for secure network access to on-premises resources.

Focus on cloud

The incorporation of Banyan Security into the SonicWall SASE portfolio should help partners use these SASE solutions to establish the best possible security architecture for their end customers’ cloud usage. This is especially important as cloud use increasingly requires security technology such as SSE and zero-trust.

In addition, the acquisition is also fully in line with SonicWall’s strategy to house all security services and solutions a common portal. Among them are network security, endpoint security, cloud-based email security and threat intelligence services.

This platform, which makes use of AI , should help simplify workflows, provide common threat visability and allow service providers and end users to focus on the things that really matter, according to the company.

Previous acquisition for channel partners

Banyan Security is not the first company SonicWall has recently acquired. Solutions Granted was also acquired in November. This company focuses its services primarily on the channel and offers resellers and other partners MDR services, primarily for MSPs and MSSPs.
