Business intelligence platform Qlik will use Kyndi to provide better insights based on structured and unstructured data.

Qlik describes Kyndi as an innovative company in natural language processing, search and generative AI. For example, Kyndi is tackling traditional search engines with the Answer Engine. Often, when a search is performed, such machines provide an answer with a list of potentially relevant documents and links. The Answer Engine answers users’ search queries directly.

Combining forces

The acquisition should help change how companies handle unstructured data from text documents. In this regard, Qlik notes that the amount of unstructured data is increasing significantly worldwide. Integrating Kyndi technology with Qlik should provide businesses with more comprehensive answers with improved context and relevance. This while strengthening the management and curation of enterprise data and maintaining strict governance and security standards.

“The acquisition of Kyndi’s assets represents an important step in Qlik’s AI vision and supports our ability to generate valuable, reliable answers to complex business questions,” said Qlik Chief Strategy Officer James Fisher. “It reinforces our established leadership in AI and ensures that Kyndi’s innovative unstructured data processing combined with our structured analytics will create more comprehensive and actionable insights for our customers.”

Kyndi staff and CEO Ryan Welsh will join Qlik. It is not known how much Qlik is paying for Kyndi.
