The recent release of NetSuite 2024 Release 1 includes several new features. Among them, Field Service Management (FSM) is now integrated, allowing companies to even better monitor the status of on-site work.

The introduction of NetSuite Field Service Management (FSM) in the recent NetSuite 2024 Release 1 edition provides companies with much better communication and monitoring capabilities between offices and field service workers.

Technology from acquisition

The added solution is made possible in part by the acquisition of Next Technik. This company’s technology should ensure that repairs turn out right the first time. This should obviously improve the productivity of field service workers.

NetSuite FSM functionality.

The NetSuite FSM solution integrated in the 2024 Release 1 allows companies to complete the tasks of their field service workers faster, thereby saving time.

Office staff can create orders for field staff and link them to cases, transactions or other projects. Then they can send these tasks via a scheduling board to the closest field sales representative with the appropriate technical skills.

Managers can track the status of various work activities through various selection methods. Examples include region, work cost and task type. Through a mobile app, field service employees can view their work appointments, view the history of customers and assets to be serviced, and even get routes to their next assignment.

Through the app, they can also indicate which products they have used so that they are automatically removed from inventory. They can also take notes and summaries of work done in this system.

All of this information can be viewed and edited through the complete NetSuite solution.

NetSuite SCM Mobile improvements.

The new platform release also improves the configuration and operation of a number of other solutions. These include the so-called NetSuite SCM Mobile applications. More specifically, these include the applications NetSuite Warehouse Management System (WMS), NetSuite Ship Central, NetSuite Manufacturing Mobile and NetSuite Quality Management.

New features have now been released for each of these applications. For example, administrators can now disable the number of measurement fields (such as inches instead of centimeters or kilograms instead of pounds) in the NetSuite SCM Mobile applications, thereby preventing errors in storing information.

Administrators can also manage the automatic updating of dynamic text, such as shipping costs in Shipping Central. These constant updates can slow down application performance. This generates unnecessary costs for API services that bill based on the number of calls.

Furthermore, data tables that show picking or shipping tasks can now link to images, work orders and other information stored in NetSuite or other systems.
