Salesforce acquires Listen Labs for AI-powered context in customer feedback

Salesforce acquires Listen Labs for AI-powered context in customer feedback

Salesforce is reportedly willing to pay $2 billion for Listen Labs. The startup uses AI agents to conduct customer surveys. Its technology is set to be integrated into Marketing Cloud and Service Cloud.

Three weeks ago, Business Insider reported that both parties were in talks with the aforementioned $2 billion as the targeted acquisition price. This has not yet been officially confirmed. The deal is expected to close in the fourth quarter of Salesforce’s fiscal year 2027, pending regulatory approval.

In June , Salesforce acquired Fin, the AI customer service provider formerly known as Intercom, for approximately $3.6 billion. Prior to that, it completed the larger acquisition of Informatica, valued at over $8 billion.

Interviews and digital twins

Listen Labs builds AI agents that take over the manual work involved in customer research. According to CEO and co-founder Alfred Wahlforss, “the platform finds the right people, interviews them, analyzes what they say, and even simulates how they will behave.” The recruitment network includes over 50 million potential participants. Interviews are possible in more than 120 languages.

This simulation runs on digital twins and is built on actual customer behavior. This allows a company to see in advance how buyers are likely to react to changes. According to Salesforce, research that used to take months now takes just a few days. The team, including Wahlforss and CTO Florian Juengermann, is moving on to Salesforce AI Labs.

$1.5 billion funding round canceled

Listen Labs is still young and emerged from a hackathon that began in January 2023. The platform went live in April 2025 and now counts Microsoft and Anthropic, among others, as its customers. In January, it raised $69 million in a Series B round led by Ribbit Capital, at a valuation of $500 million.

Things then moved quickly. According to TechCrunch, Listen Labs had already signed a term sheet with Menlo Ventures for $125 million at a valuation of $1.5 billion. The company passed on that round in favor of talks with Salesforce. Annual revenue at the time was around $30 million.
