Veeam has made Intelligent ResOps for Microsoft 365 generally available. The add-on for Veeam Data Cloud identifies AI agents, sensitive data, and redundant files. If an agent makes a mistake, administrators can roll back those changes on a per-file basis.
Veeam Intelligent ResOps (iResOps) for Microsoft 365 is the first product from the new iResOps portfolio to be generally available. Customers can connect the add-on to Veeam Data Cloud for Microsoft 365 with just a few clicks. No data migration or new architecture is required.
They then gain visibility into their Microsoft 365 environment. Which AI agents are active, including those IT isn’t aware of? Which files has AI modified? And where is sensitive or regulated data located? Redundant, Obsolete, and Trivial (ROT) data is also highlighted.
Securiti AI largely provides the technology. Veeam acquired that company for approximately $1.7 billion. That acquisition previously led to the DataAI Command Platform, which brings together resilience, security, governance, and AI governance. iResOps builds on this through the DataAI Command Graph, which links production data to backup context.
From recovery point to recovery map
According to CEO Anand Eswaran, for twenty years, resilience revolved around a single question: Can I recover? With agentic AI, he says, the key is knowing exactly what has been affected, who or what caused it, and how to return to a reliable state. “A recovery point tells you what you can restore. A recovery map tells you what to restore first, what changed, and what not to bring back,” says Eswaran.
In practice, iResOps Copilot detects agents and shows which sensitive data each agent can access. This allows teams to address oversharing. The tool also continuously classifies data in SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams, and Exchange. ROT data can be quarantined while teams decide what to archive or delete. Additionally, iResOps verifies that business-critical data is backed up. Built-in agents answer questions in plain language.
Veeam cites its own research. According to the Data Trust & Resilience Report 2026, 88 percent of organizations use or are testing AI agents, but only 7 percent are truly AI-ready. More than 82 percent have unknown agents running in their IT environments. Notably, 95 percent say that data-related issues have already delayed their AI plans.
Microsoft 365 is the first step. Starting today, customers can join private previews of iResOps for the Veeam Data Platform and the Okta identity platform. According to Rehan Jalil, President of Products and Technology, Veeam is expanding the model to the environments customers already protect with the Veeam Data Platform and to the identity systems at the forefront.
