Samsung to unveil new foldable Galaxy smartphones in late July

Samsung is going to unveil new foldable Galaxy smartphones during a Galaxy Unpacked event in late July. The company is hinting at the Galaxy Flip 5, while the Galaxy Fold 5 is also expected.

New phones will be unveiled during the event to be held in Seoul on July 26. Samsung talks about “Join the Flip Side” at the invitation. Many details of the foldable smartphones are not yet known, but leaked photos of the Galaxy Fold 5 are said to show that the smartphone can now fold all the way down and has no gap between the two different screen parts.

Foldable smartphones are becoming more popular in general. Google launched its first foldable smartphone this year, the Pixel Fold. Motorola presented the Motorola Razor Plus and Oppo introduced its Oppo Find N2 Flip in markets outside China.

Market researcher IDC expects 21.4 million foldable smartphones to be sold this year. That’s 50 percent more when compared to 2022.

Other device introductions

In addition to foldable smartphones, Samsung is also expected to introduce the Galaxy Watch 6 and the Samsung Tab 9 series of tablets during Galaxy Unpacked. Interested parties can order all these products and get a $50 premium for accessories.
