Intel has announced its latest line of vPro processors. These are four mobile processors that should be significantly faster than the predecessors of the tenth generation.
The vPro processors are based on the laptop processors that Intel also announced during CES. It concerns four quadcore processors: the Intel Core i5-1140G7, i7-1180G7, i7-1145G7 and i7-1185G7.
Processor | Grafische EU’s | Cache | Verbruik | Basiskloksnelheid | Single core turbo | All core turbo |
i7-1185G7 | 96 | 12MB | 12 – 28W | 3.0 GHz | 4.8 GHz | 4.3 GHz |
i7-1145G7 | 80 | 8MB | 12 – 28W | 2.6 GHz | 4.4 GHz | 4.0 GHz |
i7-1180G7 | 96 | 12MB | 7 – 15W | 1.3 GHz | 4.6 GHz | 3.7 GHz |
i5-1140G7 | 80 | 8MB | 7 – 15W | 1.1 GHz | 4.2 GHz | 3.5 GHz |
Intel claims the processors are on average 19 percent faster than their 10th generation predecessors. Compared to the AMD Ryzen Pro 4750U, they should even be 38 percent quicker. However, the test likely didn’t stress all eight cores in the processor. Incidentally, AMD also announced a new line of mobile processors at CES, with the 5000 series.
vPro features
The processors are manufactured on the 10nm SuperFin process and feature Iris Xe GPUs and WiFi 6 support. As usual for vPro processors, features such as hyperthreading, Turbo Boost, VT-x, VT-d, Trusted Execution Technology and Active Management Technology are also present.
Several manufacturers have already announced laptops based on the new processors. These include the Dell Latitude 9420, HP Elite Dragonfly Max and the Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Titanium.
