Lenovo has announced a series of new ThinkPads. These are updates to the X- T- and L-series. For the most part, they are incremental updates, but the X13 and X13 Yoga will get displays with a 16:10 aspect ratio.

In a press release, Lenovo talks about a series of new laptops equipped with 11th generation Intel processors or AMD 5000 series processors. Depending on the model, AMD or Nvidia GPUs are also available. Additional options include fingerprint sensors in the power button and support for Windows Hello.

ThinkPad X13

The Lenovo ThinkPad X13 features a 16:10 screen with a resolution of 2560×1600 pixels and a diagonal of 13.3 inches. The laptop comes in two variants: a regular and a Yoga version. The latter can be folded backwards to serve as a tablet. Furthermore, the laptop can be equipped with a new Intel or AMD processor and an integrated GPU. Other features include support for Wi-Fi 6, or even Wi-Fi 6E on the Intel variant, and optional support for 4G or 5G.

ThinkPad T Series

The popular ThinkPad T Series also comes with the latest Intel or AMD processors. These laptops come in 14-inch and 15-inch variants, although the latter is only available with Intel. The laptops can be equipped with up to 4K displays with support for Dolby Vision and a maximum brightness of 500 and 600 nits respectively in the 14″ and 15″ versions. Optionally, the laptops can be equipped with an Nvidia GeForce MX450 graphics card. Wireless connectivity matches the X13.

ThinkPad L14 and L15

The entry-level L-series ThinkPads are also receiving an incremental update. These laptops have a maximum display resolution of 1920×1080 pixels and otherwise feature largely the same maximum specifications as the T-series. However, high-end features like support for WiFi 6E and 5G are missing.

ThinkPad P Series

The powerful laptops in the ThinkPad P series have also received an update. The laptops can be equipped with an Nvidia T500 gpu, the professional counterpart of the GeForce MX450 with 4GB VRAM. Furthermore, the laptops can be equipped with the same 4K displays that are available for the T-series, with X-Rite colour calibration. Further specs come across with other models, though 4G or 5G connectivity doesn’t seem to be an option here.

Availability

Lenovo promises that the new laptops will be released in the United States between March and June 2021. When the laptops will come to Europe is unknown. The company mentions recommended prices only in dollars, although the euro prices will probably not differ much. The i in the type numbers below indicate that these are specifically Intel models.
