HP introduced three new laptops for hybrid workers ahead of CES 2023.

The HP Dragonfly G4, EliteBook 1040 G10 and Elite x360 1040 G10 will be demonstrated on the show floor in Las Vegas from January 5 through January 8. Most specifications are unknown at the time of writing, but we expect high-end components in all three models. HP plans to launch each laptop in the spring of 2023.

Recommended retail prices were not disclosed. HP revealed that the Dragonfly G4 was designed with mobile users in mind, while the EliteBook and Elite x360 1040 G10 meet high security and performance requirements. Although hardware details are scarce, HP disclosed several of the laptops’ software features.

Camera features

First, the laptops support Multi-Camera Experience. The feature allows users to present two camera feeds side-by-side. This makes it possible to display a whiteboard and face simultaneously in a video conference, among other things.

The second camera feature is Auto Camera Select. The software uses face recognition to automatically switch to the camera a presenter is facing. The feature is interesting for users who regularly use multi-camera setup presentations in webinars or videoconferences.

Finally, the models support HP Keystone Correction. The feature automatically crops the object faced by a camera, such as a whiteboard or document. As a result, the object is clearly presented without users having to make manual changes.

Battery

In addition to camera features, HP discussed two battery-saving technologies. Intelligent Hibernate monitors user behaviour to determine when a laptop is in use. The laptop automatically switches to a battery-saving mode during idle hours.

Similarly, the second feature (dubbed Smart Sense) analyzes user behaviour to adjust a laptop’s ventilation. HP suggests that laptops with Smart Sense are quieter and cooler than models without.
