Team management software supplier Asana announced a new update that will integrate the third-party productivity tools with the Workflow Builder – a tool that will effectively help the users automate team processes.

This introduction of App Components will let direct integration of Jotform and Miro in Asana’s user interface, and in the near future, Google Drive.

Asana also unveiled that it will expand its App Components to partners and customers in the coming months. Developers will also gain access to an enhanced toolkit that will allow them to integrate and build critical applications in the Asana workflows.

These various pipeline projects come as no surprise since, in December 2019, the company passed 100 million USD in quarterly sales and reported a record quarterly user adoption.

The same year they also opened a new Tokyo office while launching Asana for Marketing and Creative Teams and Asana Automation.

With the announcement of the new features on Tuesday, Asana stressed the importance of cross-team collaboration in the hybrid work era.

According to a statement by Alex Hood, the Chief Product Officer of Asana:

“Without a shared tool to see how their work connects across the organization, employees are spending more time on work coordination than the job they’ve been hired to do – leading to lower engagement and rising burnout.”

New and improved Dashboard

On Tuesday, the platform also announced that it now has an intelligent dashboard known as Asana Home, which will help its users understand the connection of work to different workflows.

The new and improved Dashboard has a ‘My Priorities’ section that helps the users focus on priority projects and spot delays. The ‘Projects’ section showcases how the users can work in key projects contributing to the company’s goals.

The ‘People’ section will allow users to send messages, assign a task, and view their shared work. Finally, the ‘Private Notepad’ section links tasks, writes notes, and tracks ideas without exiting Asana. Asana also stated that its Universal Reporting feature now has workflow performance optimization and measurement.
