Cegeka has acquired Italian MSP Westpole Italy. With this, the European IT service provider wants to expand its existing activities in Italy and become a more important IT integrator in the country.
The acquisition means Cegeka gets a specialist in the field of IT infrastructure. Westpole Italy helps provide data center and workplace hardware, software and technical services. It also offers Professional Services for companies and governments.
Transformation to MSP
For some time, Westpole Italy has been transforming itself into a managed service provider (MSP). In doing so, the company is increasingly focusing on providing hybrid cloud solutions and managed network and security services.
The latter development in particular prompted Cegeka to acquire Westpole Italy. According to the IT service provider, by evolving into an MSP, the company fits seamlessly into the rest of Cegeka’s IT infrastructure.
Growth of Italian activities
The acquisition of Westpole Italy doubles Cegeka’s activities in Italy. In addition, the acquisition expands the expertise of the Italian branch of the IT service provider. The integration of Westpole Italy into Cegeka also means that it can offer more services to its Italian customers.
No financial details were disclosed about the acquisition. Westpole’s Belgian operations are not involved in the deal.
