Microsoft unveiled a series of new solutions for cloud migrations, database management and analytics.

The first day revolved around public cloud environment Microsoft Azure. The tech giant unveiled new solutions for cloud migrations, database management and analytics.

Migrations

Nutanix Cloud Clusters on Microsoft Azure is now available. The service helps organizations migrate on-premises Nutanix workloads to Microsoft Azure.

Nutanix develops solutions for workload management across the clouds of multiple providers. Among other things, the technology provides a central management interface for Azure, AWS and GCP. The new Nutanix Cloud Clusters on Microsoft Azure” supports flawless, fast migrations of on-premises workloads to Azure.

In addition, Microsoft unveiled an expansion of its Azure Migration and Modernization Program (AMMP). Organizations that are planning a migration or in the process of migrating can consult the program for advice on deploying cloud security solutions. The program helps plan and configure cloud security.

Database management and analytics

Furthermore, the tech giant presented a series of updates to its Intelligent Data platform, a central environment for Microsoft’s database management and analytics services.

First, Azure Cosmos DB is being expanded. Azure Cosmos DB currently provides a managed solution for NoSQL databases. Support will be extended to PostgreSQL databases. Second, Microsoft unveiled a connector for SAP and Azure Data Factory. The connector allows data from SAP to easily be exported to Azure for analytics purposes.

Finally, the tech giant announced a new partner program. The partner program is designed for independent software vendors (ISVs) developing solutions based on the Intelligent Data platform. Partners are eligible for lower-cost licensing and additional support.
