The Chrome browser will soon get three new features. These features, according to Google, should make internet browsing even better and more efficient and provide end users with a personalized experience.
Google has been adding AI functionality to the Chrome browser for some time. There is already AI functionality that allows real-time captions to be added to videos, better detects malicious websites, which helps manage permission prompts and generates the main points of a webpage.
Tab Organizer
With the release of Chrome version M121, another three new AI features will be added. These new features should also make browsing easier and more efficient.
The new AI feature Tab Organizer helps organize the often large amounts of tabs open within the browser. The feature automatically suggests and creates tab groups for these open tabs. This can be useful when users perform various tasks in Chrome.
More tab organization can be found in the alternative browser Arc. This includes a feature that closes open tabs automatically every 12 hours and makes it easier to find accidentally closed websites again with the content the user had opened when the tab was closed.
Personalization and improvements
In addition, there comes a text-to-image diffusion model to make it possible to personalize the browser with themes. For this, users can directly personalize the theme via the Customize Chrome sidepanel. For this, they can upload their own photos or use themes from the Chrome Store.
Finally, AI support for writing text in the browser will be improved from February. The “Help me write” feature will then allow users to type in a few words, after which AI technology will take over the writing process.
Introduction will follow soon
The new AI features in Google’s Chrome browser for Windows and macOS will follow very soon. The features will become available via the “Experimantal AI” page. As these are thus experimental features, they are not yet being implemented to educational and business Google accounts.
