HP introduced the Poly Voyager Free 60 Series, a range of wireless earbuds with active noise-cancelling.

Poly produces a wide range of headsets, but the manufacturer is new to wireless noise-cancelling earbuds. With the introduction of the Poly Voyager Free 60 Series, parent company HP takes on the competition with manufacturers like Apple, Samsung and Sony.

HP unveiled the earbuds ahead of CES 2023 in Las Vegas. The series will be demonstrated on the show floor from January 5 through January 8. HP plans to make the earbuds available from March 2023 for $299 (about €280).

Poly Voyager Free 60 Series

Poly designed the earbuds for hybrid work. Users can (video)call for up to five hours on a full battery. In addition, each set comes with a charging case. According to HP, the charging case extends battery life to 15 hours, assuming a user is continuously on a call.

The series has two versions: a standard version and the Poly Voyager Free 60+ Series, identifiable by the plus sign. Users of the plus version receive a more elaborate charging case with a touch display for volume controls and battery insight. In addition, a 3.5mm input allows audio from external devices to be played back on the earbuds through a cable.

Active noise cancelling

Poly currently doesn’t offer wireless earbuds with active noise cancelling. Though the manufacturer uses the technology in several existing headsets and wired earbuds, wireless noise-cancelling buds are a first.

Poly’s active noise-cancelling technology is generally well-reviewed. However, we can’t say much about the noise-cancelling quality of the upcoming earbuds until the models are available, as implementations vary.

Management software

The earbuds come with management software Poly Lens. IT administrators can use the software for device configurations, monitoring and troubleshooting. Poly Lens consists of a central cloud dashboard accessible from a location of choice.
