DevRev joins the new OpenAI Marketplace

DevRev is one of the launch partners of the brand-new OpenAI Marketplace. OpenAI’s enterprise customers can allocatea portion of their existing AIspending to DevRev products for self-service by customers and employees.

The OpenAI Marketplace offers enterprise customers a new way to purchase partner software; the process is somewhat reminiscent of dynamically spending cloud credits. Customers can use a portion of their existing OpenAI budget for other solutions. DevRev is one of these options. Customers can find the company through the Marketplace Directory and then sign a contract directly with DevRev.

The Marketplace is launching with 32 partners, including Adobe, Salesforce, ServiceNow, CrowdStrike, and Palo Alto Networks. It is still in beta, however. A self-service checkout is not yet available, as contracts and billing are handled directly through the partner.

“The OpenAI Marketplace gives customers a more direct way to incorporate DevRev into their AI strategy through the OpenAI commitment they already have,” says Adnan Bhutta, CVP of Business and Alliances at DevRev.

From dev-centric CRM to AI agents

DevRev was founded by Nutanix co-founder Dheeraj Pandey and launched in 2021 as a so-called “dev-centric” CRM. It later transitioned to AI software, including the Computer platform, which aggregates business data and executes actions in enterprise systems. In 2024, the company achieved unicorn status following a $100.8 million funding round.

That platform is now tasked with making OpenAI’s models operational for business applications. DevRev connects business systems to create a long-term institutional AI memory, applying predefined approvals, policies, and workflows in the process. Agents thus operate within approved boundaries, document their actions, and involve a human when expertise or approval is needed.

From a Slack request to a multiplayer room

DevRev operates as follows. An employee who needs standard software requests it via Slack. The DevRev platform checks the request against identity and entitlement policies, assigns an approved license, updates the system of record, and then logs the action. Sensitive or non-standard requests are forwarded to the appropriate person along with the full context.

On the customer side, DevRev answers routine support questions based on the organization’s knowledge base and service history. If a situation requires more judgment, the context is passed along. This means the customer doesn’t have to start from scratch. For complex technical issues, DevRev sets up multiplayer rooms where multiple employees collaborate simultaneously with AI.
