Veaam has announced a plug-in for SAP HANA, which is a SAP Certified Integration for SAP HANA. In this way, the company offers a backup and recovery solution that is certified by SAP. Enterprises can therefore seamlessly integrate native SAP HANA backup with the Veeam Backup & Replication solution, reports IT Letter.
SAP HANA is a database platform that processes transactions and analytics for many enterprise workloads. These include SAP S/4 HANA, SAP BW Data Warehouse and SAP Business ONE. With the new release of Veeam, the company’s “history of innovation, ease of use and reliability” is brought to business-critical enterprise applications, says Ratmir Timashev, EVP at the company.
Plug-in
“In addition to the new major improvements to the Availability Suite 9.5 Update 4, we have also added an SAP-certified backup and recovery solution,” says Timashev. “Now, SAP HANA enterprise customers can use Veeam’s backup solution for their performance-sensitive environments, leading to less management overhead with a more intuitive, integrated and seamless solution to meet the business-critical requirements required for application and data Availability.
The key integrations and benefits of these new solutions include an easy-to-integrate and SAP-certified BACKINT plug-in. It also gives SAP Administrators 100 percent control over the backup and restore process. Finally, it delivers strong performance and scalability with Veeams Scale-out Backup Repository, as multiple repository servers can now be used in parallel to improve performance and scale.
In addition to the new plug-in, the company also provides disaster recovery support for applications including SAP S/4 HANA, SAP BW Data Warehouse and SAP Business ONE. Supported environments include:
- Support for VMware-based workloads with features such as Instant VM Recovery and DataLabs for copy data management, and Storage Integrations including HPE 3PAR, NetAPP AFF, Pure FlashArray and Dell EMC Unity.
- Support for Hyper-Converged Infrastructure systems such as Cisco HyperFlex, NetApp HCI, Nutanix AHV and others.
- Protection of physical servers and cloud-based workloads such as Microsoft Azure, Azure Stack and Amazon EC2.
